UPSC Recruitment Detailed Eligibility:
Essential: Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) or Engineering Degree in Mining or Mechanical or Drilling from a recognized University.
Note 1: Qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Schedules Tribes , if at any stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Duties:
  • Full administrative and technical control of drill unit as a camp-in-charge,
  • Optimum judicious utilization of machineries and equipment to achieve the required productivity. Maintenance, repair and upkeep of machinery and vehicle,
  • Effective and day to day supervision of drilling operation,
  • Planning of drilling inventories, raising of indents and proper maintenance of stores and accounts,
  • Provisioning of daily requirements like POL, bits, mud etc. for execution of uninterrupted shift operation,
  • Adequate and proper deployment of the personnel in the unit,
  • Initiate survey reports for un-serviceable stores and those list in the boreholes,
  • Report accidents, losses, thefts and natural calamity etc. to Headquarters and take necessary corrective measures to ensure safety and security of the staff and government property in the camp,
  • Preparation of drilling reports/returns and timely submission to Headquarter,
  • Liaison with field Geologist for borehole allotment/ closure, logging etc. and local authorities for smooth drilling operation and
  • Maintenance of field vehicle, road tax payment, fitness certificate and initiate indent for vehicle spares etc.
